DISCONNECTED TRAIN RIDES

FRIENDSHIP
On the path to being loyal friends for our
long lives,
Like the stingless golden bees who forever
live together in the same hives.
Will save each other when no one else can,
Unlike the fake friends who left and away
they ran.
Our pictures of dazzling smiling white
teeth,
A friendship whose destiny is to succeed.
Our epic friendship story,
A beautiful breathtaking glory.
Our chronicle of conversion from coal to
diamonds,
A music – drenched tale of tears and
laughter,
And heart – swelling triumph.
You all are my best friends for eternity,
Each one of you has completely unique personality.

An insect that got in my homeš ,
All itself alone .
North American insect named Golden
Tortoise Beetleš,
Living in India without a passport is legal?
It is not only found in India,
But also in China and Indonesiaš.
Its colour is
gold,
Walks like an
insect who is very old.
That insect is so strangeš¦,

To the ballet academy is new.

But her name nobody knew.

POLLUTION'S DANGEROUS IMPACT
Creating pollution, Avoiding
the solution .
Global warming is
increasingš,
Flora and fauna species
are decreasingš§,
Coral Reefs are also dying.
Glaciers and Icebergs are
meltingš,
Floods and Tsunamis are
comingš.
Throwing plastic in
oceans♳,
Giving our Earth so much
burdenš§.
Changing rivers’ routeš£,
In some places causing
drought⛅.
Upcoming extreme weather
eventsš,
Like many more heat
wavesš„.
Threatening the planet
in a new unexpected wayš,
Volcanic eruptions,
avalanchesš,
And triggering earthquakes
every day⛈.
Rain, Snow and stormsšØ,
Now, our Earth is deformedš¦.
All because of global
warming,
What has happened to the
world š,
In which we are living.
The Earth is slowly
getting worseš,
We need to take care of
it like a nurseš©ŗ.

THE UNNECESSARY POEM
The Art Galleryš,
Had some mysterious mysteryš®.
The Baker from the bakeryš,
Showed some bravery.
He unlocked the code,
using the stuff of machineryšØ.
He found a laptop batteryš„,
Along with a set of cutleryš“.
Including the stuff of pottery,
Which is usually found in the nurseryšæ.
Why did you read this poem,
It's unnecessary.

POETIC WRITING
When the words come out of my hand✋,
Flow in a rhythm or rhymeš,
It’s the time for the poem to be called mineš§.
Poem is full of fascinating words,
Which appreciate the world around usš.
Poem refreshes my mood and makes my day,
It brings out my writing skills in a better way✍.
Poem’s strength lies in its ability,
Where I can create a beautiful poem from a short story.
Poem shows the different shades of human beings,
Expressing feelings in literature is what a poem means.

COCONUT
Two years ago, in October, we met
a catš,
Who was really easy to pet.
All you need to do is stand
stillš,
She will come to you on her own
will.
We named her Coconutš„„,
She was as socialized as Lovebirdsš¦.
Coconut – The most
adorable meowing catšŗ,
The best animal whom
I ever met š.
During the time of lockdown and
curfew,
The doorbell didn't ring but
meowed youš».
Her beautiful eyes sometimes showed love, sometimes glare,
sometimes a scary death stareš.
Even though she could only say "meowš½",
Her eyes asked us, "Kya mein ghar ke andar aau (me ow) š¼?"
Everyday, she looked after my basil plantšŖ“,
Like a compassionate caretaking auntš©.
Coconut and Peach always
fought like Tom and Jerryš¾,
But both the cats were
always merryšø.
The way she expressed her emotions,
Made her the one chosen.
She never broke anything
in our houseš”,
And never ran away just
to catch a mouseš.
At the pigeons she
always staredš¹,
Which made all the
pigeons really scared š¬.
Her way of playing games
was very unique,
As she always won when
we played Hide and Seek.
We had a special bond of mutual
understanding,
Where I understood her and she understood
me.
She got very famous in our
society.
Calming everyone's stress and anxiety.
Now, who thought a calico cat
would be so interesting,
Who ended up teaching us so many
thingsš.
Whenever she slept on
the cozy bedš,
I was there too, just
sleeping beside her headš¤Æ.
Whenever she came to us,
always made me smileš,
Don’t know why viral fever took her far a mile.
When she was gone, many flats filled with
tearsš¢,
Especially the ones of me and my neighbor’s.
I really hate that viral feveršæ,
Which forever took away
my satisfaction.
I miss her a lot,
Forget her no one cannot.
I know that I will never be able to meet
her again,
But her memories flood my brain.
I still hear many cats’
noiseš,
But none of them is Coconut’s voiceš.

OFFLINE
SCHOOL AFTER LOCKDOWN
School is saying no to canteenš„«,
So now coming to school is no longer my
dreamš«.
All time social distancing and wearing
maskš·,
Where completing homework is your daily taskš.
At school, no permission to mobile phoneš±,
So, better attend online classes and stay
at homeš .

MEGHALAYA'S DANCE, MUSIC AND VIBRANT COSTUMES
Celebrations
in Meghalaya are incomplete without dance and music involvementš,
Meghalaya dance forms an integral part of the culture and is importantš.
Some
of the Meghalaya dances are shad sukmysiem ,
derogata,
do dru Sua, laho, shad nongkrem .
The
land comes alive with these wonderful dance performances,
and
great songs accompanied by the sound of traditional instrumentsš¶.
The
dance at Meghalaya is performed at every society’s level,
like
birth, marriage, annual festivalsš.
The
dance forms in the state are dedicated to various events,
such as social, agricultural, religious and recreationalš.
Shawl
is another costume which is important,
Its colours are bright and vibrantš.
The
traditional costume is unstitched garment,
is
made of Mulberry silk which is worn around the body called as Jainsen .
The
Garo tribes wear a blouse along with Dakmanda with floral patternsšø,
The Khasi Tribes wear Jainsen along with a blouse and Gold or silver ornaments.

OCEAN
The smell of the ocean,
Is like a fish tank but open.
Life of fishes differ from an aquarium,
Here they perform on sea shells like in an auditorium.
The water is crystal clear,
For jellyfishes’ glowing competition, let
us cheer.

MY CHILDHOOD HOUSE
My maternal grandparent’s old house has a big courtyardš”,
With so many ducks that came
at our house’s private ghat š¦.
So many trees of mangoes and neem š„,
Including Papayas and
jackfruits treesš².
Situated beside the Sagar
Lakha Banjara Lakeš¤½,
Where we did boating all the
dayš£.
We gave food to monkeys, cows, goatsš,
And to my maternal grandfather’s favorite dog
named Facebookš¶.
The morning rising sun behind
the hillsš,
and that beautiful sunset
with the shadow on the lakeš
.
The chirping of the birdsš¦,
The sound of the ringing
bells of the templesš.
This beautiful scenery has a
lot of worthš,
All atmosphere gives the
feeling of heaven on the Earthš.
The calm shore where I
played with ducks, squirrels, birdsš¦,
Yes, that’s where I spent my childhoodš¶.

SHOPPING ADVENTURE
I arrived to the market,
Of dainty foodsš±.
One hour before dawnš ,
I hope I don’t yawnš„±.
I went to the market,
named Target,
brought a Jacket,
Got a free Racket.
Bought a candle and a few ladlešÆ.
My sister bought Shopkins,
picked some napkins,
and some other toys by her choice.
We also bought fairytale booksš,
and a showpiece of brookš.
Also bought some chips
and candyš¬,
Which hardly come handy.
Everything there was of good quality,
with the latest technology.
It was all organized,
So, it could be easily recognized.
Alas, To the market I went,
All the money I spentšø.

BOOK LOVER'S ODYSSEY
Flipping the pagesš,
Reading the same book since agesš.
I have by-hearted this storyš,
Just like 2016 film – Finding Doryš .
Pages full with terror,
Hearing the voices horror.
With very long chapters to read, indeedš.
The book had no drama, but full of suspenseš,
Reminding me the hours of reading I spentš§.
I was pulled inside this book,
With sharp, long nailsš
,
The only thing I could see was a grey tailš.
When my eyes openedš,
I could see everything blur,
But I remember, I saw something like fur.
Slowly, Slowly, My vision became clear.
I was lost in a huge cityš,
For myself now I feel pity.
Finally I saw someone with their heads bigš£,
Wearing a purple wigš£.
I was in an unknown place,
That place frightens me so much.
Never imagined it beforehand,
Never gonna go back to that scary land.
